PROFILE

Michael Chestnutt's love of photography evolved from the discovery of the colour spectrum refracted by crystals in high school science class. Michael began to notice the world as illuminated with colour and decided instantly to paint with light through photography. After studying photography, Michael spent 18 months in London assisting renowned international photographers. Upon returning to Australia to apply his skills as a freelance photographer Michael was based in his hometown Perth. Michael continues to service a number of clients in Perth and is developing his business in Melbourne.

Stylistically, Michael Chestnutt's works are detailed with colour, texture and taste, generating a unique personality for every image. Michael offers a creative approach to the development of clients' projects. His ability to be technically flexible means that Michael is able to adapt his techniques to deliver a product that will suit every client. Michael is proficient in post production, diligent in the processes of digital manipulation for both low and high resolution images.

Michael's local editorial work for lifestyle magazines Scoop and Insite has gained him national recognition by ACP Magazines and FPC Magazines. Internationally, Michael is represented by global photographic agency Orchard Photographers for assignment based commercial work, and by the leading agency for rights protected food images, Stock Food.
